Gratitude

Having just enjoyed time with family and friends for Thanksgiving, I'm aware of what gratitude is able to add to the quality of life. As I looked around the dinner table at the faces of people I care about, participated in numerous and varied conversations and helped prepare the meal and then clean up afterward, my heart was filled with a peaceful sense of belonging. There was an ease of camaraderie, a gladness for being together and genuine eagerness to be together again at Christmas. I'm reminded to say to you, "I'm thankful that you are a part of my life." What are you most grateful for right now?

The Nature of Time

As we get ready to set our clocks back by one hour this weekend, I find myself contemplating the nature of time. I've noticed that my experience of time either expands or contracts, depending on how I'm focusing on it. When I say, "I don't have enough time," it's true; when I say, "There's plenty of time," that's true, too. If time is simply a device we human beings have agreed upon so that we can make certain appointments with one another and be there together, what is the benefit to us to allow time to constrict our experience outside those intersection points?

Bird Song

As I awoke at dawn, bird song filled the air, each melody lilting
upward on the tapering notes of the one before it. I thought, "Morning
must be so happy to be greeted in this way each day," and smiled
sleepily as I remembered stories I've read about ancient (and present
day) cultures that made it a point to rise at dawn and join the birds
and other creatures in greeting the burgeoning day with song.

How have I lost that joy and sense of wonder as a new day begins? Is
it the hustle-bustle of modern-day living, apathy or just plain
laziness?

How about you? What is the ideal way to start YOUR day so that it
begins with joy and wonder?

"Newbie" Loving Blogging & Tweeting

NEWBIE LOVING BLOGGING AND TWEETING
Having just been introduced to my own blog yesterday, I'm excited about this innovative way to connect. I have deep appreciation for Clay Loges of Yodio [http://www.yodio.com] for assisting with this and for his easy-to-use tool for posting multi-media messages to my blog - way to go, Clay! He and his business partner, Blaine Millett of Customer Experiences, Inc.[http://www.customerexperiencesinc.com/] provided a very informative, content-rich and hands-on workshop that ignited my imagination about all the ways connections can be made and wisdom shared. I love technology, don't you?!!?
