The Nature of Time

As we get ready to set our clocks back by one hour this weekend, I find myself contemplating the nature of time. I've noticed that my experience of time either expands or contracts, depending on how I'm focusing on it. When I say, "I don't have enough time," it's true; when I say, "There's plenty of time," that's true, too. If time is simply a device we human beings have agreed upon so that we can make certain appointments with one another and be there together, what is the benefit to us to allow time to constrict our experience outside those intersection points?
